Catherine Anne O'Hara OOC (born on March 4 1954) is a Canadian-American actor and comedian. O'Hara is the proud recipient of several awards, including the Genie Award. In 2018, she was named an Officer of Canada. In 2020 , she received the Governor General’s Performing Arts Performing Arts Artistic Achievement Award. O'Hara first became known as an actress in 1974, when she was a member of The Second City in Toronto. Alongside John Candy (1975-1978), she was part of the primary cast of the sitcom Coming Up Rosie (1975-1978). The following year, O'Hara and Candy began work on the sketch comedy series Second City Television (1976-1984) in which she received the attention of critics for both her work as a comedic actress as well as a writer. She was awarded a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Writing for the Variety Series in 1981. O'Hara was included in the newly formed Second City artistic Advisory Board and was led by Stephen Colbert. Other members of the board were Dwayne Colbert. Tina Fey. Keegan–Michael Key.
