Barbara Ann Corcoran

 Barbara Ann Corcoran (born March 10, 1949) is an American businesswoman investor and speaker. She is also a consultant, speaker, syndicated columnist, TV personality, author and author. The Corcoran Group, an NYC real estate brokerage was established by Corcoran. NRT bought it in 2001 for $66 million. Corcoran then left the business. Corcoran was a participant in 12 of ABC's Shark Tank seasons. Since February of 2020, she had signed 53 deals with the show, the largest one being $350,000 to purchase 40 percent of Coverplay. Corcoran was the second child in a family of 10 children, and was raised in Edgewater. [8] Her mother, Florence, was a homemaker. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. was her father. He was constantly moving from one job to the next throughout Corcoran’s childhood. Her family depended sometimes on the food provided by the local grocer who would deliver free food. Corcoran remembers her fatheras one who would drink excessively, and behaved towards her mother disrespectfully and condescendingly, particularly after he'd had some drinks. Corcoran struggled at school, and eventually discovered that she had dyslexia. Corcoran entered high school at St. Cecilia High School Englewood after attending a Catholic primary school. Corcoran was absent from several classes in her first year and transferred to Leonia High School where she was a D student.
